A2Z Automation was founded in 2009 by engineers Ashley Hira and Daniel Oosthuizen, with a strong foundation in Industrial Automation and Building Management Systems. From the outset, their goal was to establish a product design and engineering services company that delivers a complete, single-source solution for clients. This includes concept development, industrial design, electrical engineering, and software architecture — all under one roof.

How far we’ve come
From a small team of engineers, A2Z Automation has expanded over the past 17 years into a multidisciplinary company with a team of more than 10 specialized designers and engineers. We now deliver comprehensive, end-to-end development solutions that reflect the founding vision — from concept to deployment.
Today, A2Z Automation proudly serves clients across Africa and into global markets, supporting complex projects in automation, control systems, and integrated engineering design

Daniel Oosthuizen
Co-Founder & Technical Director
Daniel holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and has over 20 years of experience in Industrial Automation and Building Management Systems.
He specializes in turnkey process control solutions, advanced PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Beckhoff), and high-availability BMS integration for data centres and critical infrastructure.
Daniel leads A2Z Automation’s technical direction with a focus on reliability, innovation, and scalable system design.
Ashley Hira
Co-Founder & Operations Director
Ashley co-founded A2Z Automation with a vision to deliver integrated engineering solutions built on efficiency, quality, and reliability.
With a background in Industrial Automation and Building Management Systems, he oversees the company’s operations, project execution, and client delivery.
Ashley along with his degree in Electrical Engineering brings over 15 years of experience managing multidisciplinary teams, streamlining workflows, and ensuring every solution meets both technical and commercial expectations.
